A number of you have written me to ask that I start a post where folks can advertise for a roommate at BlogHer as a way to contain costs. Ya...go for it in the comments section below!
This info may help: I recommend Elisa Camahort's round-up of nearby hotels from the logistics post. I've excerpted it below...
"Hotels and roomshares "Speaking of hotels, there are numerous options in the immediate TechMart vicinity, from economical to luxurious. Here is a map showing the closest half-dozen hotels to the location. And here is a listing of all 24 places to stay in Santa Clara. Of these hotels, 75 percent have rates starting at the sub-$100 level. Here is a pricing list for these hotels." More
Here's the pricing list:
"Gotten your hotel room yet? Here's some info. As of today, here are the latest rates at five of the closest hotels to the conference center:
The Westin Santa Clara (right next door)
Lowest rate = $109The Santa Clara Hilton (one long block)
Lowest rate = $99The Santa Clara Marriott (about a mile)
Lowest rate = $99The Santa Clara Holiday Inn (also about a mile, with shuttle service)
Lowest rate = $65The Biltmore (SJ airport and free 5-mile radius shuttle)
Lowest rate: $89/night"
As always, I recommend you list your email below but not any other personal info. Be safe. Be smart.
I have a room at the Holiday Inn that I have confirmed is 2 beds, non-smoking. If you're interested in discussing sharing, drop me a note at blogher at kilaen dot net.

I live locally (SF), but I would be interested in getting a room if someone wanted to share. If I go this route, I would like to stay at the Westin Santa Clara, since it is right next door to the conference.
If you are interested in going in on a room together, please email me at [email protected].
Thanks!

Still wouldn't mind sharing, just to pick up a few bucks for meals. The Holiday Inn has an airport shuttle and a shuttle to TechMart as I recall.
